The 1-1 draw against Celaya left a bittersweet taste for Tapatío, after being ahead on the scoreboard, they were unable to maintain their lead and thus obtained their fourth draw of the Apertura 2023. However, there were some very noteworthy aspects of their performance in Matchday 4, which we will tell you about below.
General analysisCelaya started the match with great intensity and as the first half progressed, the Rebaño Sagrado affiliate showed a good performance, with possession and quick ball circulation, but the astado team's approach complicated the Tapatío, who sought to reach the opponent's goal with clarity. The Rebaño affiliate took the lead through Alejandro Organista just before the halftime break.
In the second half, the Cajeteros changed their approach and managed to gain control of the ball and frequently presented themselves in front of 'Tala' Rangel's goal, until that pressure led to a penalty kick that Michell Rodríguez converted to level the match. From that point on, the match was very tight in the midfield and although Tapatío tried to do some damage in the final part, they were not precise in their final touch and their attempts to score were unsuccessful.
The best of TapatíoHere we must highlight the performances of Arturo Palma, Mateo Chávez, Óscar Macías and Raúl Rangel.
Palma: He was the most unbalanced player up front, he was very participative, he faced, gave depth to the attack, although he was not accurate with his final touch, both when passing the ball and when shooting at the visitor's goal.
Chávez: He fulfilled his defensive duties in an excellent manner and took the time to give the team an outlet. He was always an option to finish off the Red and White's offensive arrivals.
Macías: The red and white captain gave balance to the team with his mobility and ball circulation, ordered the midfield with his leadership and conditioned the Toros' offense with his continuous pressure to recover the ball.
Rangel: He was a factor with his interventions, especially that of the Paraguayan Fernando Lesme in the first half, in which he prevented the visitors from opening the scoreboard, and also gave confidence to the Red and White front line.
The coaching staff and the squad will continue with their intense work so that the Champion consolidates the advantages it achieves on the scoreboard and becomes a dominant and constant team during the 90 minutes.
