Richarlison will not play for Brazil against Paraguay on Thursday and could be out of the Copa América altogether.

That’s because the 22-year-old has come down with mumps and is currently being quarantined away from the rest of his international team-mates, who will all be vaccinated after the game at the Grêmio Arena.

According to Globo Esporte, the Everton forward complained of pain and swelling to his neck before doctors diagnosed him with mumps on Thursday morning.

There is said to be a risk that some of the other Seleção players may have also been contaminated and the medical staff will assess any potential symptoms immediately after the clash with Paraguay.

Richarlison was expected to be named among the substitutes for the game, but it now looks as if his tournament is probably over.

Meanwhile, Casemiro is out through suspension and Fernandinho is still recovering from a knee injury and is not expected to be in the squad.
