Following Liam Delap completing his £30m move to Chelsea, attention has turned to which other key players might depart Portman Road - as Ipswich Town return to the second-tier.

The Suffolk club will perhaps be bracing themselves for further departures as Premier League clubs could circle their top performers from their 19th-placed finish this past season.

FLW's Ipswich Town Fan Pundit, Adam Wilkin, gave some insight into who could follow Delap out the door this summer.

Leif Davis tipped to exit Ipswich Town this summer

Wilkin identified players most at risk of departing Ipswich this summer - with Leif Davis emerging as his top pick, whilst also touching on those out of contract - including Axel Tuanzebe.

"It would be one of Omari Hutchinson, Dara O’Shea or Leif Davis. Out of the three of those I think Davis is maybe the most likely given the transfer movements in the Premier League in terms of left-backs with Ait-Nouri moving to Manchester City, I think Davis would be a good fit to replace him at Wolves, potentially," Wilkin told FLW.

Wilkin's words do appear to be well-founded given recent transfers - Manchester City completed the signing of Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves, creating a hole at left-back that needs filling.

Davis, who provided 18 assists during Ipswich's Championship winning campaign, would represent an ideal like-for-like replacement.

"I know there was some interest in him from other clubs but a lot depends on transfers out really, I know that Nottingham Forest were linked with him earlier in the season, I think there’s not too many that you’d expect to move on in terms of outgoings."

The 25-year-old has reportedly attracted previous interest from Premier League clubs - with Nottingham Forest apparently eyeing him up.

Davis, who has said previously his biggest ambition is to play for his hometown club Newcastle United, featured in 33 matches this season, contributing with one goal and two assists.

Axel Tuanzebe's contract situation adds uncertainty

Wilkin then went on to highlight some "squad players" are also potentially facing uncertain futures, with their contract negotiations still ongoing.

"Maybe you’d lose a few more, some squad players - I think Axel Tuanzebe and Cameron Burgess are still negotiating contracts," Wilkin said.

Valencia have apparently already made contact with Cameron Burgess regarding a potential free transfer - with CEO Ron Gourlay reportedly asking the Australian to wait for the Spanish club.

"Tuanzebe is one that could have Premier League teams looking at him and should have Premier League teams looking at him, especially on a free contract, he’d be a great pick up"

Several Town players have committed their futures to the club though. Notably, Dara O'Shea has publicly declared his loyalty to the Tractor Boys - despite reported interest from Wolves and Leeds United.

While on international duty with Ireland, O'Shea stated, "I'm fully committed to Ipswich at the moment. I want to get the club back into the Premier League." That's perhaps some good news in that their most recent Player of the Year award winner appears determined to stick in Suffolk for at least a little while.

Wolves are expected to be in the market for another left-back

While Hugo Bueno is expected to return from his loan at Feyenoord to compete for the left-back spot, Wolves are understood to be in the market for additional options - according to BBC Sport.

The departure of Delap to Chelsea has already provided Ipswich with very impressive funds for the Championship though, and that's without taking note of parachute payments - but losing additional players like Davis and Tuanzebe could hinder plans for an immediate return.

Ipswich will no doubt be hoping to retain any players who could be swayed by Liam Delap's recent exit - if Premier League offers - or La Liga, in Burgess' case - arrive.
