Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo were the two biggest investments Chelsea made in this current team, and both were guaranteed to be key players for Enzo Maresca.

It’s not been easy for either of them, but both of them have had great moments, and Caicedo in particular is having an exceptional season. They spoke to the official Chelsea website about their partnership and their thoughts on the coach:

“It is easier when you speak the same language. I believe we can make things easier. He does it for me as much as I do it for him – how we fight for every ball, how we talk to each other,” Caicedo said.

He also went into some detail on what he likes about manager Enzo Maresca’s approach to the game:

“He’s very intelligent when it comes to working for each game. He knows that if we do the things they tell us, it will work for us in the end. We are all happy to have him here and working with him every day.

“We are also working hard so that the work he has done is shown on the field, and to give him joy as well, as he gives everything in every training session and every game.”

Fernandez said something very similar about his relationship with Caicedo:

“We communicate well on the field, we help each other, and we give each other instructions. We always try to help the team also since we are in the middle. We are in the middle of the field, we see everyone, we manage everything and well, we always try our best for the team and help our team-mates.”

He also backed his under pressure manager, big time:

“The truth is that I have grown a lot with him. He has given me a lot of tools so that I can grow and understand the position.
