Note: goals from all competitions have been included and when players are level on goals we have ranked them by minutes per goal ratio.

10. Thijs Dallinga – 8

If Dallinga continues to progress at his current rate, he will be making his Netherlands debut in no time. The 22-year-old has scored eight goals since the World Cup for Toulouse.

9. Youssef En-Nesyri – 8

The Sevilla forward played his role in Morocco’s historic World Cup run and it has been back to business at club level since his return. Sevilla endured a disastrous start to the 2022-23 campaign, but have slowly started to turn things around.

Largely thanks to En-Nesyri and the eight goals he has scored since the winter break, Sevilla have climbed to 12th in La Liga and can now focus on doing what they do best – smashing the Europa League.

8. Lautaro Martinez – 8

The Inter forward lost his place in Argentina’s starting line-up to Man City’s Julian Alvarez during the World Cup, as his finishing skills let him down in Qatar.

Still, he played an all-important role in Messi’s third goal in the final and returned from Qatar as a champion. That seems to have done him the world of good, with eight goals for the Nerazzurri since the restart.

7. Kylian Mbappe – 8

Things had fizzled out for Lacazette at Arsenal, but he has managed to rekindle his goalscoring touch in Ligue 1 with Lyon. With nine goals since the restart, he’s scored more than his entire last season with the Gunners.

5. Erling Haaland – 9

Plenty of fans and pundits alike have had their take on Haaland this season and whether or not he has been beneficial to City this season. One thing is for sure, he scores goals for fun.

His best moment since the restart came against Wolves where he scored a hat-trick without breaking much of a sweat. He’s bound to break all sorts of records this season.

4. Victor Osimhen – 9

The Napoli forward is one of the most in-demand players in Europe right now. Luciano Spalletti’s side have been a breath of fresh air this season and Osimhen has proven to be their main talisman.

With Napoli currently leading the way in Serie A and having every chance of a good run in Europe, Osimhen’s stock is only expected to rise from this point onwards.

3. Wissam Ben Yedder – 9

Monaco are causing quite the stir in Ligue 1 at the moment. Philippe Clement’s side are on an nine-game unbeaten run and got the better of PSG in their recent encounter.

Ben Yedder has delivered the goods for them since the resumption in play with nine goals. If they keep up this form, a late title charge could be brewing.

2. Karim Benzema – 10

Due to an injury and squabble in the French camp, Benzema missed the 2022 World Cup entirely and he has looked back to his usual self for Real Madrid.

The current Ballon d’Or holder had a series of injuries in the first half of the season which hampered his consistency, but those seem to be behind him now. With 10 goals since the restart, he is in fine form ahead of the Champions League once again.

1. Marcus Rashford – 16
