The final eight teams remaining in the Uefa Champions League face off in the quarter-finals kick off this week
This is where the serious business really gets underway, the point when clubs truly start to dream about reaching the final and possibly even lifting the vaunted trophy.
Aston Villa are back at this stage of the competition for the first time since 1983, the year after they won the European Cup. But the rest of the teams involved are very familiar with the latter stages.
Indeed, no club has featured in the quarters more than the one Villa defeated in the 1982 final, Bayern Munich. They have gotten this far on 22 occasions since the competition rebranded in 1992.
Serial winners Real Madrid are just behind the German giants on 22 quarter-final Champions League appearances, while rivals Barcelona are one behind again on 21.
The next two teams on the list didn’t even qualify for this season’s tournament, but both are Premier League clubs: Manchester United (14) and Chelsea (12), who are tied with Juventus.
