Mudryk says he has not intentionally taken any banned substance and is now suspended upon investigation, with a ban from football being quite likely at this point.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea ‘seriously consider’ January approach for Premier League centre back!!

Chelsea spoke on it yesterday and Mudryk also put out a statement himself on Instagram. Chelsea are defending and supporting the player, and it looks like manager Enzo Maresca is also doing the same.

The Italian coach has been speaking ahead of Chelsea’s game against Shamrock Rovers tomorrow night in the Conference League in the official pre-match press conference today.

Maresca says that he and the players believe that Mudryk is innocent in all this, and it also sounds like they are all prepared and happy to fight the testing results.

The Athletic even claimed that he might have been setup, so that could be one to keep an eye on.

Mudryk has a long road ahead

Maresca said on Mudryk:

“Now the situation is a bit more clear. We have a statement from the club, who have already said what we need to say. So there is not anything to add. All the players inside the training ground support and trust Misha.

“It’s general. Misha is a Chelsea player. For sure, he is one of the players involved in the squad, so it’s my duty to be in contact with him. Me, the club, his team-mates, we are all there.

“Not yet [no timeline of situation].

“We are all upset, sad and we are there to support Misha. At the moment he can’t train. We are waiting. The club is there to support the players in all the aspects. To be honest, I don’t know [when the results happened].

“These kind of things happen with players of experience, not just Misha. It’s my duty since I start that I have a close relationship with players, so even with Misha it’s exactly the same. It’s normal in this moment he will need help. We are all there to support.

“We all believe that [Mudryk] is innocent. I think he is going to come back, but we don’t know when – that’s the only doubt.

“We [me and the players] had all the same feeling. The teammates were all surprised because Misha at the beginning was ill, then this happened. At the same time, they were sad.”
