For Club Deportivo Guadalajara and the Jorge Vergara Foundation, active participation on behalf of our state's society is fundamental. That is why, with great pride, this morning the second generation of Semillero Rojiblanco, a social program in conjunction with the Government of Jalisco, formally kicked off, which seeks to take the Chivas training methodology to every corner of the state.
Semillero Rojiblanco was inaugurated in September 2023 and seeks to promote a sports culture along with good habits through the soccer training of boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 13, through Chivas' methodology and supervision. Each training session includes a life skills session, technical-tactical work and match simulation, as well as healthy snacks.
Present at the presentation of the results of the first generation, in addition to the formal start of this new stage, were Amaury Vergara, Director of Grupo Omnilife-Chivas and Director of the Jorge Vergara Foundation; Pablo Lemus, Governor of the State of Jalisco; Ana Karina Vázquez, Operational Director of the Jorge Vergara Foundation; Fernando Ortega, Director of CODE Jalisco and Andrea Blanco Calderón, Strategic General Coordinator of Social Development for the State of Jalisco.
Since its creation, Semillero Rojiblanco has significantly increased its scope, from 5 initial municipalities to 13 for this second generation: Acatlán, Autlán, Ameca, Lagos de Moreno, Ocotlán, Tlajomulco, Zapotlán el Grande, Jalostotitlán, Colula, Tecalitlán, Acatic and Arandas. In addition, it will benefit 390 children from these entities.
An inspiring example and one of the most outstanding cases of the program is that of Kevin Mendoza, a young talent from Tlajomulco who was part of the 2023 generation and was selected to join the Fuerzas Básicas of Chivas. Kevin was recognized by Amaury Vergara, who presented him with a Rebaño jersey for his outstanding performance in the program.
Fernando Ortega, CODE Jalisco Director
"Chivas sponsoring this project is fundamental in the motivation and the dream of the girls and boys who seek to transcend from their municipality."
Ana Karina Vázquez, Operational Director of the Jorge Vergara Foundation.
"Today I celebrate the permanence of this project with its second generation. Today, this dream is a reality". "Semillero Rojiblanco was created to reach the 125 municipalities of the state; we still have a long way to go, but we are sure that we are going to achieve it.""To fulfill our dreams we have to be disciplined, that is what Jorge Vergara (r.e.p.d.) taught us."
Amaury Vergara, Director of Grupo Omnilife-Chivas and Director of the Jorge Vergara Foundation.
"I am very excited because this is a project in which we wanted to take Chivas to every corner of the state. This represents the beginning of the dream we have.""Soccer has an incredible power, a special magic that regenerates the social fabric by giving opportunities to our children to improve themselves."I am very excited about what can happen with these kids. There are a lot of demands, but we are the team that gives Mexicans the most confidence because we are committed to remain as the best youth academy in the country."
Pablo Lemus, Governor of the State of Jalisco
"What we are witnessing today is a scouting throughout the state of Jalisco. These municipalities are regional bases, and what they do is bring together other municipalities, it is a multiplier effect.""Jalisco has been a great seedbed for years and will continue to be. Some will reach the professional level and others will not; but of what I am sure, is that they will be great people who will contribute a lot for Jalisco."
