The most likely buyer of Inter within a year is the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund rather than an American owner, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Tuttomercatoweb.com, the rumours of Inter being sold by Suning have come back at a rapid pace over the last few days and it is believed that major news could be expected very soon.

The company that appears to be leading the way to purchase the Nerazzurri is PIF, which is the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund. This would make Inter a state-backed club such as Manchester City or Paris Saint Germain.

Should everything go smoothly, there is a chance that PIF could be the owner of the club as soon as the end of this year.

There is still the chance of an American buyer such as Oaktree getting involved as many American investors are keen on Serie A.
