There is no doubt that Chivas Femenil was born under a good star. On November 24, back in 2017, Guadalajara added its name to the annals of history by becoming the first champion of the nascent Liga MX Femenil, after beating Las Tuzas 3-0 (3-2 overall) in the second leg of the final of the 2017 Apertura Tournament at the Estadio Akron, which was dressed for the occasion.

In order to measure the value and significance of this feat for this group of players, it is necessary to go back in time to two key moments. The first was Day 1 of the 2017 Copa MX Femenil held in May, which served as a final rehearsal prior to the start of the league. On that occasion, Pachuca defeated Chivas and headed to the Final of the competition, which they would eventually win. The second event was precisely the first episode of the AP17 Final, as the albiazules took advantage of the freezing weather in Hidalgo to beat our red and white girls 2-0.

Although a sector of the sports press and women's soccer fans did not believe that the Rebaño Sagrado would be able to achieve the heroic feat, Blanca Félix anticipated it a day earlier and there is no mistaking the fact that there was no deception: "We are going to score the first goal, the fans the second one and the third will come on its own," declared the Sinaloan during the Media Day in Guadalajara.

With this sort of confidence permeating the red and white environment, the day of the Grand Final arrived. From very early on, the ChivaHermanos began to fill the stands and by the start of the match, the more than 32,000 fans were already making the Fortaleza Rojiblanca pressure be felt.

With that momentum, Guadalajara gave the first warning just 2' in, when Brenda Viramontes received a filtered pass inside the box, dodged a charging Alejandría Godínez, but the ball went wide and, she managed to filter the ball to Tania Morales, but the goalkeeper recovered and kept the ball.

And that was the rinse and repeat story of the first half, with Chivas showing blind faith in the miracle, keeping on top of their rival, until the 36' when they managed to score from a corner kick taken by Tania Morales, which Arlett Tovar sent home with a cross header. The first half ended with a 1-0 scoreline.

In the second half, Guadalajara did not lower their intensity and at 50' equalized the aggregate thanks to the Morales-Tovar duo, who appeared again on a corner kick to put the team on the way to the turnaround. Pachuca tried to annihilate the Tapatías reaction at minute 60, but a double save by Blanca Félix on shots by Mónica Ocampo and Jocelyn de la Rosa kept the title hopes alive.

Norma Palafox received a through ball in the center of the box and unmarked headed straight at the visiting goalkeeper, deceiving her with a soft shot to the right to send the Red-and-White Fortress into rapture.

But it couldn't be a Grand Final without a touch of drama, which came in stoppage time when Michelle Gonzalez (yes, ChivaHermano, our now central defender) smashed a shot against the crossbar, which Blanca managed to control on the rebound.

After the scare came the final whistle. The chant of "Chivas, Chivas!" echoed over and over again in the stands, while each of our red and white players paraded to receive their medals and give way to the crowning moment: Tania Morales raising the trophy that made everything official: Chivas Femenil, Mexican Soccer Champions!
