Lucas Moura backs Jose Mourinho to lead Tottenham to the title

As reported by the Guardian, Tottenham Hotspur winger Lucas Moura has claimed that Jose Mourinho is the right man to lead the club to the Premier League title.

The Portuguese tactician took over the reins at the club back in November last year. One year later, it feels like there is something special afoot at the club – a feeling that is resonated by Spurs defender Serge Aurier.

As things stand, Tottenham are at the top of the Premier League table, after having beaten last season’s runners-up Manchester City in a convincing fashion this past weekend.

With talks of a title tilt doing the rounds, Lucas Moura has had his say on our chances, insisting that he too has a special feeling about this season. (h/t Guardian)

“I have a very good feeling about this season. We need to think of every game like a final. We need to believe and trust in our team, our club and believe it’s possible because in football everything is possible.”

Opening about the mentality that Jose Mourinho has brought into the team, the Brazilian international insisted that the players trust that he is the right man to lead the team to silverware. (h/t Guardian)

“Mourinho wants to win a trophy here. He knows we are capable of winning. He’s the right man to bring us to the trophy. We just need to trust in him and believe in ourselves. Now is the time.”

Moura is not alone in feeling that Mourinho is the right man to lead us to the title. A number of pundits and ex-players have also chimed in on how the Portuguese has turned things around at the club. But there’s still a long time left in the season and the players must ensure that the same performance levels are maintained throughout.
