Whilst fans will face a steep uphill climb to the Montjuïc Olympic stadium in Barcelona when Paris Saint-Germain pay the La Liga side a visit on Tuesday, PSG themselves face an uphill task to secure their progression to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

In a topsy-turvy game at the Parc des Princes last week, Barcelona came out the victors, with Andreas Christensen’s header late in the second half proving the difference in a 3-2 victory for the Blaugrana. However, Luis Enrique doesn’t believe that the result was necessarily a fair reflection of the game itself.

“The first leg was hotly contested. The result doesn’t reflect what we deserved. We could have equalised, but we have this result,” said the Spaniard, who returns to face his former club.

He added that the second leg will be “a bit different” noting that PSG, along with French rivals Olympique de Marseille and Lille OSC, were given the weekend off by the LFP in order to prepare for the game. “We’ve had time to analyse and improve our performance,” said Luis Enrique.

Within this context, the PSG manager told reporters at Monday’s press conference that he is confident of a better result in the return leg. “We need to present a better version of ourselves. We are convinced that we can turn around the situation,” he said.
