A draw was enough in the end to avoid a playout scenario, as the Primavera came away with a victory today: the Rossoneri ended their season in the best possible fashion, beating Genoa 4-2 at Vismara thanks to a brace from Nasti and a goal apiece for El Hilali and Robotti. After taking the lead through Nasti, the guests found an equaliser and even took the lead, with Besaggio converting a penalty and Sadiku netting before the break. AC Milan responded excellently after half-time: El Hilali levelled matters before Robotti made it 3-2 with a free kick. Then, Nasti secured the win with his 16th league goal of the campaign.

The Primavera secured the three points after finding themselves in a precarious situation. They have struggled since their their 4-0 victory away to SPAL on 12 April, but the lads managed to elude a playout tie, which was starting to look like a possibility at the end of the first 45. The approach was excellent after the restart, with the team maintaining focus and composure throughout. Credit must also go to those who came on and made an impact. Now, the players can enjoy a well-earned rest ahead of next season.

The Rossoneri made a great start: in the eleventh minute, Marco Nasti took advantage of a mistake in the Genoa backline and beat Corci to make it 1-0. A foul by Gala on Dellepiane then provided the visitors with a chance to level matters from the penalty spot shortly afterwards: Desplanches, who had just denied Kallon, went the right way but was unable to get to the ball: 1-1. The game was a balanced affair with moments of individual quality. This was the case in the 25th minute, when Nasti’s strike crashed against the crossbar. Shortly before half-time, Genoa went in front thanks to a powerful and precise right-footed effort from Sadiku.

The Primavera were in a delicate position but displayed a fantastic response: El Hilali, who had come on at half-time, bagged a 52nd-minute equaliser with a right-footed shot that ended in the corner of the net: 2-2. Now more relaxed, the Diavolo started to play with more fluidity and netted their third in the 64th minute, when Corci was caught out by Robotti’s near-post free kick. Then, with 77 minutes on the clock, Nasti virtually put the game to bed, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance after winning the ball on the edge of the box. The final stages were about seeing the match out, which the Rossoneri were successfully able to do. Mission accomplished and a playout showdown avoided.
