One of the two architecture firms that are in the running to design the new San Siro has opened up an office in Milan, suggesting confidence in their bid, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttsport, the firm called Populous has opened up the new office to potentially try and gain admiration from the Milan City Council.

The reason this move would again favour from the politicians is that many have criticised the American company for wanting to build such a culturally significant stadium, without actually having any representation in Italy.

There are still plenty of decisions to be made by the Milan City Council, which probably will not take place until after the local elections that are taking place in October.

Populous have spoken to the press before about how they want to incorporate famous Milanese landmarks into the design of the new San Siro.
