The team has shown flashes of brilliance but have been unable to maintain consistent enough form to challenge for a top spot.

The Canaries will be hoping to climb into the play-off places in the second half of the campaign, having come sixth in the previous term.

The January transfer window could be a pivotal period for Norwich in their bid for a place back in the Premier League.

While Thorup will surely want to strengthen, the club will also be wary of big bids coming in for star players.

Here we look at the multi-million pound offers that could arrive at Carrow Road in the upcoming winter market…

Borja Sainz

Borja Sainz has been the standout figure in Thorup’s side so far this season, with the Spaniard catching everyone’s attention with his goal-scoring exploits.

He is top of the goal charts in the Championship, has been at the centre of everything exciting about this team this term.

It was previously reported in September by El Correo that Athletic Bilbao were showing an interest in the forward.

Reports from Turkey, via Gala Haber, have also named Galatasaray as a potentially interested club.

It would come as no surprise to Norwich if interest does materialise in the winter given how well he’s performed.

But they will be hoping to turn down any big-money offers and hold onto the 23-year-old given his significance to the team.

Josh Sargent

Josh Sargent hasn’t quite hit the heights of last season just yet, with injuries continuing to hamper his progress.

However, he is still a crucial part of Thorup’s side when fit and is not someone the club will want to cash in on for anything less than a premium.

It was reported in the summer by Give Me Sport that Cincinnati FC had an offer in the region of $20 (£15.8) million turned down by the Championship club.

It would come as no surprise if interest in him is forthcoming again when the market opens in January.

He has performed well when fit this season, and remains one of the top strikers in the Championship while only 24-years-of-age.

It remains to be seen whether Norwich could be convinced to sell, but it’s likely to take a big sum to get any deal over the line this January.

Marcelino Nunez

Marcelino Nunez has been another bright performer in Thorup’s side so far this season.

The Chilean has been a regular presence in the side when available for selection, and has been one of their standout players with his performances.

Turkish club Trabzonspor were linked with a move for the midfielder in the summer, although a deal failed to materialise.

Given how important he’s been to Norwich this season, the club will be fearing potential interest in his arising again in the new year.

It will have to take a big offer to convince the Championship side to cash in at this stage, with the 24-year-old under contract until the summer of 2026.
