Barcelona are currently immersed in the search for a new manager, as they look to replace Xavi Hernandez in the coming summer.
A curious trend in Barcelona’s search for a new manager is the club’s favoritism towards German candidates.
Jurgen Klopp has been widely established as Barcelona’s preferred candidate, whereas the likes of Julian Nagelsmann, and Hansi Flick have also emerged as options.
However, Barcelona have also been linked with moves for non-German options, such as Imanol Alguacil and Michel, among others.
A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered an update on Barcelona’s search for a manager, highlighting several non-German options the club are looking at.
Mikel Arteta, Luis Enrique and Roberto De Zerbi are among the non-German coaches in contention to replace Xavi at Camp Nou this summer.

As per MD, Roberto de Zerbi appears to be the most viable option for Barcelona, among the non-German coaches.
Roberto de Zerbi is currently coaching Brighton & Hove Albion and has a contract until 2026. The Italian has a release clause of just €10 million, making him a very accessible option for the Catalans.
MD points out that De Zerbi is rated quite highly in the Barcelona camp. The Brighton coach often receives praise from Pep Guardiola himself, for his tactical expertise and ability to nurture talents.
Another factor that might play into Barcelona’s hands is de Zerbi’s agents. The Italian is represented by Edmundo Kabchi and Edoardo Crnjar – the ones who also represent Ronald Araujo.
In fact, Barcelona sporting director Deco was in a reported discussion with Araujo’s agents recently, over a contract renewal. There is no reason why Barca can’t approach them for de Zerbi as well, ahead of the coming summer.
