Claude Makelele believes Enzo Maresca needs to be left to work in a “good way” like Luis Enrique at Paris Saint Germain.
Maresca is currently preparing for the Club World Cup with Chelsea’s first game against Los Angeles FC on June 16th.
The Italian had a successful first season in charge as he guided Chelsea back to the Champions League and won the Conference League.
Maresca has come under fire from supporters for his style of play, and at times last season Chelsea were difficult to watch.
However, last season was positive and John Obi Mikel feels Chelsea are going in the right direction under Maresca.
The Blues have already added Liam Delap to their squad and are hoping to add further reinforcements to Maresca’s squad.

Chelsea have certainly got something to build on over the summer and Maresca has adapted well to life at Stamford Bridge.
Makelele believes Maresca needs to be left to do his work and cited Paris Saint Germain and Enrique as an example.
“We need to wait for Chelsea to win the Premier League again, and they are starting to build a strategy and some stability,” he told BBC Sport.
“But, for me, the most important thing is they need to leave Maresca working in a good way, like Paris St-Germain did with Luis Enrique.
“They need stability if they are to fight for a title. I am a Chelsea fan, and I was worried when I saw Chelsea struggling in the beginning [under new owners Clearlake-Boehly], but now they are on a positive path and can return to the Chelsea of the past, which was at a high level.”
With Champions League football secured the Blues are in need of more signings and have been linked with the likes of Jamie Gittens and Marc Guehi.

A deal is expected to be completed for Gittens, whilst Chelsea are aiming to complete a cut price deal for Guehi after the Club World Cup.
Chelsea need to back Maresca with more and of they do there’s certainly a chance they could mount a charge for the league title.
