Manchester City are expected to reveal the full extent of their Covid-19 outbreak on Wednesday afternoon.
City’s clash with Everton was called off by the Premier League on Monday evening after it emerged that at least five of their players and a number of staff members tested positive for the virus.
All players and staff underwent a further round of testing on Tuesday, and the Daily Mail report that the results are expected imminently.
Pep Guardiola’s side are scheduled to play Chelsea on Sunday but it remains to be seen whether the game will go ahead. If more positive cases emerge from the squad, it could potentially put the whole season in jeopardy.
Meanwhile, the Mail also report that Everton feel “disrespected” by City and the Premier League after they were not involved in the consultation process before Monday’s postponement.
The Toffees have demanded full disclosure regarding why and when the decision was taken to call the game off, and the Merseyside club are said to be annoyed that they had no say in the matter.
