Following his departure from the Scottish champions three years ago, the 27 year-old shotstopper spent time with Forest Green Rovers and more recently, Aberdeen. He now returns to Celtic as a more experienced goalkeeper, ready to offer valuable support alongside Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo.
The Celtic Star: It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for yourself, making your Scotland debut against Liechtenstein, re-signing for your boyhood club, you must be absolutely thrilled the way things are going?
Ross Doohan: “Yeah, absolutely buzzing. The last couple of weeks have been absolutely amazing, the Scotland situation came out of the blue. Being on holiday, coming back and then getting my first cap and then finally getting it confirmed and getting announced to sign for Celtic. So, yeah, it’s been a great couple of weeks.”
The Celtic Star: You played against your new teammates twice last season, what qualities standout for you about this current Celtic side?
Ross Doohan: “The ruthlessness and the way they want to play football. The tempo, everything, it’s just a top, top team and I just can’t wait to get involved.”

The Celtic Star: Can I just touch on the devastating news yesterday that Lisbon Lion John Clark passed away, you would have bumped into him at Lennoxtown and on match-day’s during your initial spell, do you have any memories of John?
Ross Doohan: “Yeah, always remembering seeing him in and about Lennoxtown and at the stadium in my first spell here. He was just a massive part of the club, and he will be sorely missed. It’s devastating news and my condolences go to the family, but he will be a massive miss because he was such a big part of this club.”
