Having already got their hands on a first trophy of the season just four days ago with their European Super Cup win, Real Madrid kick off the new LaLiga campaign this evening. The reigning champions begin the defence of their title on the road at Almería (10:00pm CEST) looking to start off on the right foot this time around.

It will be the first of three consecutive away games facing the team this August. Following tonight's clash in Almería, Ancelotti's boys will head to Balaídos to take on Celta (Saturday 20, 10:00pm CEST), before heading to Barcelona eight days later to face Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium (Sunday 28, 10:00pm CEST). “We can't wait to get the new season started", stated Ancelotti in the pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Almería, who are back in the Primera División seven years on from their last stint. The Italian coach has named his squad which will get the new campaign underway, including last term's top scorer Karim Benzema. The captain, who has recently been nominated for both the Ballon d'Or and UEFA Men's Player of the Year, has picked up where he left off last season, finding the net in three successive games (Club América, Juventus and Eintracht Frankfurt).

Head-to-head Almería enjoyed a phenomenal campaign last year, being crowned Second Division champions to gain promotion. Now they will be hoping to go one step further and clinch a positive result on their return to LaLiga. Our team has not played in the Andalusian city since 2014, when they recorded a 1-4 win during Carlo Ancelotti's first spell in the madridista dugout.
