Yesterday, Liverpool defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 at Anfield to conclude their 2021-22 Premier League campaign.

Pedro Neto gave Wolves the lead after three minutes of play. However, the Reds fought back.

Sadio Mane scored the equaliser shortly after. But, it was after half-time when Liverpool took control of the game.

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson both found the back of the net in the final 10 minutes of the match to make sure that the Reds walked away with the three points.

Hope is dangerous

When Philippe Coutinho gave Aston Villa a 2-0 lead over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, Liverpool were in prime position to clinch the league title.

Unfortunately, Pep Guardiola's side launched a huge comeback late on in the second-half. The Citizens secured a 3-2 victory over the Villans.

Therefore, Liverpool fell short of the league title by a single point. That's how football goes sometimes.

Liverpool are never beaten

Liverpool continue to find ways to win football games. Whenever Jurgen Klopp's side are challenged, they react.

It's a brilliant trait to possess. Liverpool are not going to win every football match, but at least the supporters know they will do everything to turn a game around. It is a privilege to watch this side on a weekly basis.

As Jamie Carragher said, the Reds are the only reason why there has been a title race in recent seasons. Klopp's side are the only team capable of competing with Manchester City at the moment.

As quoted by the Liverpool Echo, the former Red told Sky Sports the following: "It was always going to be tough (for Klopp's team to win the title) with the position that City found themselves in, but credit to Liverpool. It would just be a cakewalk for City every year if it wasn’t for Liverpool."

Mohamed Salah and Alisson claim awards

Mohamed Salah and Tottenham's Son Heung-min will share the Premier League's Golden Boot award after finishing the season tied on 23 goals.

The Egyptian international scored on the final day of the season to secure the aforementioned award.

Alisson on the other hand will share the Golden Glove with Manchester City's Ederson. It has been a very successful campaign for the Liverpool stars.

Divock Origi's farewell

Prior to the Wolves clash, Klopp confirmed that Origi would be moving on from the club after the Champions League final. The Belgium international will leave on a free transfer.

"Wherever he will go he will be successful, 100%," Klopp said last week, as quoted by the BBC.

"He is, and will be for me, forever a Liverpool legend, one of the most important players I ever had.

"That might sound strange with the amount of games he had but it was a pure joy to work together."

Origi has been a handy player for the club. The striker has scored 41 goals and registered 18 assists in 175 appearances for Liverpool's first-team. Origi has also won six major trophies with the club.

With that being the case, he was given a farewell from Anfield yesterday. It was sad to see Origi depart the building.

The focus shifts to Paris

Liverpool will face Real Madrid in the Champions League final next Saturday. The game is taking place in Paris. Therefore, the Anfield faithful should be able to still smile despite losing out on the title.

As things stand, we have no idea if Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho will be fit for the clash. Both players have doubts surrounding their fitness.

But, only time will tell if Thiago and Fabinho will feature against Real Madrid.
