The insane Chelsea lineup of captains compared to our new youth generation

ESPN have just pointed out on Twitter that Chelsea once had 6 international captains in the same team.
This was in the 2009/2010 season, a rare crossover where all of the titans of the Mourinho era were still in place, with some of the next generation coming through at the same time.
You had Michael Ballack captaining Germany, John Terry captaining England, Petr Cech captaining the Czech Republic, Branislav Ivanovic captaining Serbia, Jon Obi Mikel captaining Nigeria, and Didier Drogba captaining the Ivory Coast.
No wonder we blitzed the league that season.
Plenty of fans are comparing it unfavourably to our current dressing room – full of young kids who look like they’d be nervous to captain our team in an FA Cup Third Round game, let alone lead their country out at a World Cup.
There is plenty of time for this group to develop as leaders as well as players, but it’s a shocking comparison we have to admit.
