Speaking to Foot Mercato, Crystal Palace forward Odsonne Édouard (25) has said that he is open to a “new challenge” come the end of the season.

Édouard, who joined Crystal Palace for just over €16m in the summer of 2021, has been in fine goal-scoring form since the start of the season, netting seven games in 14 appearances in all competitions, including six Premier League goals. However, could this be the former France U21 international’s final season at Selhurst Road?

If Édouard gets his way, perhaps. The Frenchman has always wanted to play in the Premier League, telling Foot Mercato that he set his sights on the league when he first joined Celtic. Crystal Palace provided that opportunity for Édouard, but he already has his sights set higher.

Édouard wants to continue his goal-scoring form before a potential summer departure. “My goal is to finish with the most amount of goals possible in the Premier League. I want to score every weekend before, why not, hoping for a new challenge by knocking on the door of the biggest European clubs,” he told Foot Mercato.

He added that whilst his preference is to remain in the Premier League, he is open to other options. “For now, I am in the Premier League. I like life in England, I like the league. The ideal objective would be to stay in the Premier League. But I am an open person. I have already moved around quite a bit since the start of my career. But my goal is really to be in the biggest teams in Europe. That comes by scoring lots of goals, performing every weekend – in summary, putting in good performances with Crystal Palace,” said Édouard, whose contract with Crystal Palace runs until the summer of 2025.
