Liverpool are one of the most famous and successful teams in the history of English football. The club was founded in 1892, and since then it has become one of the most recognised brands in the world.

The first years of the club were not easy. Liverpool played at a low level, and in the first season, the team was forced to play in the third league. However, by the end of the 19th century, the team began to progress, and in 1901 it reached the top league for the first time. In the 20s and 30s Liverpool continued to develop but failed to win the English Championship. However, after World War II the team began its golden age. In 1963, under the leadership of the legendary coach Bill Shankly, the first championship medal was won. Over the next twenty years, Liverpool became the most successful team in England, winning 11 championships, 4 European Cups, and many other trophies.

One of the best periods in the history of the club was during the 1980s when they dominated English and European football. A highlight was in the 1983/84 season when Liverpool won the “treble” – the championship, the League Cup, and the European Cup. Stars such as Kenny Daglish, Ian Rush and Alan Hansen played in that squad.

However, the club ran into difficulties in the 1990s and went into the shadows for a few years. But in the early 2000s, Liverpool began to rise again, and under coach, Rafael Benitez won the European Cup in 2005.

Today Liverpool remains one of the biggest clubs in the world and have enjoyed huge success under their current boss, Jurgen Klopp. The German has won the Premier League for the first time, and also lifted the Champions League in 2019.
