An insight into the extent of the injury suffered by Real Madrid star Joselu has this evening been forthcoming online.

The name of frontman Joselu has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital across the day to date.

As much comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the Espanyol loanee, after sitting out training over the last couple of days, had indeed picked up a fitness problem.

In an official statement across the club’s social media platforms, Real Madrid announced that:

‘Following tests carried out on Joselu by the Real Madrid Medical Services, the player has been diagnosed with a bone oedema in his right ankle. His progress will be monitored.’

Los Blancos’ announcement, as showcased above, did not include a note on just how long the club’s veteran striker is expected to be sidelined.

This evening, though, an insight into precisely that has been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Carlos Rodríguez of Onda Madrid, who points towards Joselu being in line for around three weeks out of action.

Should such a diagnosis prove to be accurate, the Spanish international is likely to miss Real’s upcoming fixtures against all of Sevilla, Valencia, RB Leipzig and Celta Vigo, as well as, potentially, Osasuna.
