The five top scorers in the Premier League in 2024/25

=4. Chris Wood – Nottingham Forest (20)

Old-fashioned target men are back in fashion and perhaps no player epitomised that better than Chris Wood. The New Zealand international was the focal point for a Nottingham Forest side that exceeded all expectations to finish seventh.

European football will return to the City Ground for the first time since 1995 next season and Wood’s return of 20 goals was crucial to that. The 33-year-old delivered the best season of his top-flight career and is closing in on the Premier League’s 100 club.

=4. Bryan Mbeumo – Brentford (20)

Brentford lost Ivan Toney to the Saudi Pro League’s riches last summer, but the brilliant combination of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa combatted that loss.

Mbeumo scored 20 league goals with Wissa adding 19 of his own, as the dynamic duo fell just short of becoming only the fifth set of Premier League teammates to each reach 20 goals in a single season.

Mbeumo has just 12 months to run on his contract and the Bees may reluctantly have to cash in this summer.

3. Erling Haaland – Manchester City (22)

The back-to-back Golden Boot winner finished third in the 2024/25 standings, with a serious ankle injury hindering his hopes of a hat-trick.

Haaland breached the 20-goal barrier for the third straight season, however, becoming just the sixth player to have achieved that feat in the Premier League era.

2. Alexander Isak – Newcastle United (23)

Alexander Isak will be aiming to emulate that achievment next season after reaching 20+ goals in the Premier League for a second consecutive campaign.

Isak is the first player to achieve that feat for Newcastle, with even Alan Shearer failing to do so for the Magpies.

1. Mohamed Salah – Liverpool (29)

Mohamed Salah stormed to a record-equalling fourth Premier League Golden Boot this season.

Salah set a new record for Premier League goal involvements in a 38-game season, leading the league for both goals (29) and assists (18). His fourth Golden Boot follows previous successes in 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2021/22, and matches Thierry Henry’s divisional record.
