Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak has stated that his club’s goal is to bring in the majority of their summer signings ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. It would be ideal for Pep Guardiola and his team if that aim came to fruition. The first domino of Manchester City’s summer goal looks set to fall. It has been reported by Fabrizio Romano that a deal between Manchester City and AC Milan that will see Tijjani Reijnders sign for City is imminent. That is great news for City in a pivotal summer for the club.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that a deal that will see Tijjani Reijnders sign for Manchester City is nearing completion. Furthermore, Romano reports that AC Milan and City are in the process of completing an agreement that will see Reijnders join Pep Guardiola’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup. Lastly, Romano reports that personal terms between Reijnders and Manchester City have already been agreed.
Fabrizio Romano’s new report is great news for Manchester City. It appeared that City were edging closer to completing several deals in the coming days. It wouldn’t be a major surprise to see City quickly agree deals with Lyon and Wolverhampton Wanderers that see Rayan Cherki and Rayan Ait-Nouri arrive at City ahead of the Club World Cup. In fact, in line with Khaldoon Al-Mubarak’s goal, it is almost to be expected.
It now seems to be a matter of time before Tijjani Reijnders becomes a Manchester City player. If and when the deal is complete Pep Guardiola would have a technically brilliant midfielder added to his squad. Reijnders can score goals and get around the pitch well. He can also dictate the play in any match. Reijnders is also in the prime of his career and playing under Pep Guardiola may take his game to the next level. That is an exciting proposition to ponder.
Of course, no deal is official until it is confirmed by the clubs. But it now seems that Tijjani Reijnders is on the verge of becoming a Manchester City player. That is an exciting development and the prospect that more signings could follow is also very real.
