Denis Vavro could be Lazio’s first sale of the summer as he closes in on a permanent move to FC Copenhagen.
The 26-year-old Slovakian centre back returned to the Danish club on loan in the January transfer window, immediately finding success following an incredibly tough two-and-a-half years with Lazio. Vavro never convinced in Rome and only made 21 appearances since his arrival in 2019.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio have reached an agreement with FC Copenhagen over the sale of Vavro, who will cost the Danish side €6m. It’s likely that some add-ons have been included.
The deal will help unblock Lazio’s transfer market, allowing the club to finally provide coach Maurizio Sarri with the reinforcements that he’s been promised.
Vavro is now one of sporting director Igli Tare’s most frustrating flops, costing the club around €10m back in 2019. He immediately looked out of place in Rome and the transfer was incredibly confusing.
