Rotherham United find themselves fighting for survival this year in the Sky Bet Championship but they’ve got a chance of achieving it and that is all they need.

The Millers sit just above the dropzone at the moment in the second tier and will feel as though they have it in them to avoid the drop and stay in the second tier for another year.

We’ll have to wait and see what unfolds in the coming weeks, then, but their fans will be cheering them on and so will a number of famous faces.

Here, we take a look at some of the celebrities who follow the Millers and their fortunes…

Howard Webb

Many have joked that Webb supports Manchester United in the past but it is a different United that is actually close to his heart.

A recognisable figure for any fans of English football, Howard Webb is one of the most famous referees of the modern era – with him refereeing some of the biggest games in world football.

Webb, who retired as a ref in 2014, is also a big fan of the Millers and has been pictured at games in the past.

Paul Chuckle

Likely the Rotherham fan that is most recognisable, Paul Chuckle is famously a big supporter of the Millers.

He is known across the UK for his part in the Chuckle Brothers alongside his brother Barry, who has now sadly passed away.

Chris Wolstenholme

Muse bassist and backing singer Chris Wolstenholme is also a Rotherham fan.

Wolstenholme confirmed his love for the Millers in an interview with Absolute Radio in 2012.

Mat Nicholls

Another musician, Bring Me the Horizon drummer Mat Nicholls is another in the music industry with a burning passion for the Yorkshire club.

Nicholls even formed a friendship with former manager Paul Warne and visited his staff in 2019.
