Port Vale’s return to England’s third tier has been a strong one, even though they are currently on a five-game winless run in the league.

The Staffordshire club win promotion to League One last time out through the play-offs, convincingly sweeping aside Mansfield Town at Wembley in the final.

The Valiants have flirted with the play-off positions at different stages of the season but they currently sit 14th and are 10 points from Barnsley in sixth place.

Singer Robbie Williams is someone who is known across the globe and has to be considered as Port Vale’s most famous fan.

Starting his journey of fame as a member of Take That, starting in 1990, he found solo success from 1996 and has become a well-known global face.

Williams has been one of the key influences in Soccer Aid becoming as big as it is, with football being a big part of his life.

His dad was the Licensee at Port Vale’s social club and Robbie’s love for football remained at Vale Park.

Phil “the power” Taylor

Darts’ most successful player ever to live, Phil “the power” Taylor is also a Stoke fan and was born in Burslem.

Winning a mammoth 85 major titles, which included 16 World Championships, Taylor dominated a very exciting era of darts.

Several fans over the years have posted on forums and social platforms that they have spotted the legendary darts player at Vale matches.

British rapper, actor, music manager, and songwriter Simon Webbe is next to feature in this list, with the ‘Blue’ band member being born in relatively nearby Manchester.

Being spotted at Vale Park and on away days on several occasions, the 43-year-old spent some time in the club’s academy.

Suffering a torn ligament late into his teens, damaging his chances of making it with the Staffordshire club.

Jonathan Wilkes

There is also no doubt that entertainer Jonathan Wilkes is a Port Vale fan.

Another one who played for the club at academy level, Wilkes also enjoyed a spell with Everton in his youth.

A good friend of Robbie Williams, Wilkes also assisted with the creation of Soccer Aid and continues to be a part of the event to this day.
