The sixth and final matchday of the UEFA Champions League will see Borussia Dortmund play host to 2020 finalists, Paris Saint-Germain, on Wednesday. The French outfit could still finish first, second or third in the group, while BVB have already booked their place in the round of 16.

Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain are going head-to-head in European competition for the sixth time. There has been one win, two draws and two defeats – including the 2-0 loss at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 1 due to goals from Kylian Mbappé (pen., 49) and Achraf Hakimi (58).
In Dortmund, there has been one draw (1-1 in the UEFA Europa League in the 2010/11 season, goal from Nuri Sahin) and a 2-1 victory in the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg (both goals from Erling Haaland).

Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, need a victory to finish in top spot and avoid potentially being eliminated from the competition entirely. Because a draw would leave the French team on eight points, which is what Newcastle would have if they beat Milan. The English club would then have the superior head-to-head record. If PSG were to lose in Dortmund, they would be overtaken by the winner of the Newcastle-Milan game.

Borussia Dortmund qualified for the knockout stages for the fifth time in the last six years courtesy of their 3-1 victory away to AC Milan.
