Chelsea have 9 games in October, a pretty crazy run in the best of circumstances, but as Pat Nevin has pointed out in his weekly column on the club website, it’s even more intense than that.

For a new coach, that’s a nightmare.

In the Champions League we play AC Milan twice, games which will decide whether we qualify from the group or not, as well as Potter’s first European tests since his days at Ostersunds.

But the pick of the bunch has to be our game at the Amex Stadium, where we go to play Potter’s old team Brighton. We’re sure they will give him a good reception there, but it’s a game we desperately need to get a result in to get our season back on track, and there will be no room for sentimentality.
