Brighton & Hove Albion maintained their strong start after playing a goalless draw against bottom of the table side Norwich City at Carrow Road Stadium in the English Premier League. Norwich City have now drawn back to back matches and Brighton’s unbeaten run in the league extends to five matches.

Daniel Farke named an unchanged side from their goalless draw against Burnley. He started with the same formation for the third consecutive game. Josh Sargent and Teemu Pukki have now started together in four games in a row. The strikers are supported by three central midfielders and two wingbacks.
From the average position of the starting 11, we can figure out that Norwich played in a 3-5-2 formation. Ozan Kabak was playing a lot deeper on the right side of the defence.
Graham Potter also named an unchanged side from their goalless draw against Arsenal. Neal Maupay and Tossard pair upfront and are supported by three central midfielders and two attacking wing-backs.
Marc Cucurella played a very high line on the left and was supported by Dan Burn who played the furthest among the back three. Adam Lallana was the holding midfielder and the other two midfielders played more of an attacking role.
Brighton had more possession of the ball and attempted twice the number of passes that were attempted by Norwich players. The Seagulls created more positional attacks and showed their aerial dominance. Norwich players attempted two shots more than their opposition players but both teams had the same number of shots on target.
Leandro Trossard attempted four shots in the game and his expected goal rate was 0.27. Dan Burn attempted 14 passes into the opposition final third and won six aerial duels. Max Aarons attempted the most number of dribbles in the match.
Norwich City player attempted 15 shots and three were on target. Around 67% of the shots were attempted from outside the box. The xG rate of the team is 0.87.
Brighton & Hove Albion shots were attempted from a closer range than their opponents. The Seagulls had a high xG rate of 1.40. The team attempted 67% of their shots from inside the opposition box.
Brighton attempted the first shot within the first five minutes of the match. The expected goal timeline shows a steady increase in the Brighton graph when compared to Norwich City’s graph. Norwich created the highest threat in the first half. Neal Maupay just had one attempt but created the highest xG rate.
Left-back Dimitrios Giannoulis attempted the most number of passes for the home team. He attempted seven passes towards Kevin McLean. Melou was on the receiving end of 21 passes.
Adam Lallana dictated the play for Brighton and attempted 79 passes in the match. Lewis Dunk attempted 20 passes towards Dan Burn & Burn was on the receiving end of 63 passes.
Three Norwich players attempted two smart passes each in the match. Dimitrios Giannoulis attempted four crosses and his five passes ended in the opposition 18-yard box. Pierre Lees-Melou attempted two smart passes and was successful in delivering one into the opposition 6-yard box.
Joel Veltman and Pascal Groß attempted four crosses each in the match. Veltman three passes landed in the opposition 18-yard box and two passes in the 6-yard box. Pascal Groß six passes landed in the opposition box.
Dimitrios Giannoulis was involved in a lot of attacks while going forward and he has created the highest threat from passes in the team. He is supported by the other full-back Max Aarons who created the second-highest threat rate. The expected threat creation zones are more towards the left side.
Josh Sargent created the highest threat from dribbles for the Canaries. He was supported by Normann and Aarons, while other players created less threat. Aarons attempted nine dribbles and Sargent attempted four.
Brighton had similar creation zones to their opponent but the Seagulls attacked more from the middle than their opponents. Solly March came off the bench and his xT rate from passes was 0.367. Pascal Groß created the highest threat for the away team.

Midfielder Melou contested ten defensive duels and won three out of them. Two of his duels were 50-50 and he lost the other five. Kabak and Normann won two duels each.
Grant Hanley showed some aerial dominance and the defender won seven aerial duels. Ozan Kabak won four duels and two players won two duels each.
Grant Hanley had a 100% win percentage when we look at the loose ball duels contested by him. The team won most of the loose ball duels on the left-hand side.
Brighton and Hove Albion players lost most of their defensive duels in the match. Lewis Dunk won three duels and was supported by Burn, Moder and Trossard who won two defensive duels each.
Dan Burn won six aerial duels out of the 11 contested by him. His defensive partners Dunk and Duffy won five and three aerial duels respectively. Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez also won three aerial duels.
Lewis Dunk won six loose ball duels and his two duels ended in a neutral score. Shane Duffy won three duels followed by Pascal Groß who won two duels
