AFC Bournemouth‘s unbeaten start to the season continues as the Cherries defeated Bristol City by a margin of 2-0 in the EFL Championship. Bournemouth are still on the top of the table and have a three-point lead over second-ranked West Brom. Bristol City move out of the top ten and have 16 points from 12 games.

Bristol City played in a 4-4-2 formation and the manager made one change to the starting lineup from their 3-2 victory over Peterborough. Nathan Baker came in place of Robert Atkinson in the defence.
The average position of the players shows that they drifted more towards the right side of play. Chris Martin played in front of Weimann and O’Dowda average position is the furthest in the team.
Scott Parker made three changes to the starting lineup. Jamal Lowe, Gavin Kilkenny and Jack Stacey replaced Jefferson Lerma, Ben Pearson and Adam Smith. The team lined up in a 4-1-4-1 formation.
Jordan Zemura was the more attacking full-back. The average position of most of the players was in the opposition half. Billings played a wider role on the left side and Christie was involved in play on the right.
Bournemouth had 76% of the ball possession in the match. The Cherries scored two goals and created 42 positional attacks. The corner count was also high for the away team. Bristol City players made more interceptions and clearance in the match.
The Cherries attempted 20 shots and nine were attempted by striker Dominic Solanke. His expected goal rate was 1.09 and the player also attempted four dribbles. Gavin Kilkenny attempted 16 passes into the final third and made six recoveries in the opposition half. Jadon Anthony attempted the most number of dribbles along with six recoveries in the opposition half and six passes into the opposition final third.
Bristol City only attempted three shots and all of them were attempted from inside the opposition box. The xG rate was 0.64 and only one shot was on target.
Bournemouth players attempted 20 shots in the match. 25% of the shots were on target and 60% of the shots were attempted from inside the opposition box. The xG rate was 2.72 and one goal was scored from inside the box and the other goal was a long-range effort from the left.
Bournemouth dominated the match from the start and attempted around seven shots in the first half. The second half was also started by creating a lot of opportunities. The expected threat timeline shows a high graph for Bournemouth.

Bristol City creation zones were more towards the centre of the goal. Callum O’Dowda created the highest threat and was followed by Nahki Wells.

Jack Stacey created the highest threat from his passes in the match. Jaidon Anthony created the second-highest threat from passes.
Ryan Christie and Jamal Lowe created the highest threat from dribbles from the right side.
Tomáš Kalas won the highest number of defensive duels for the home side. Matty James won three defensive duels.
Chris Martin contested 19 aerial duels and he won five out of them. Kalas and Baker also won three duels each.
Chris Martin won five loose ball duels followed by Pring who won four duels.
Lloyd Kelly, Gary Cahill and Billing won two defensive duels each for the away side. Most of the duels were won in the middle third.
The Cherries defenders were dominant in the air. Lloyd Kelly won seven aerial duels and his defensive partners Cahill and Stacey won five and four duels each.
Kelly once again won the most number of loose ball duels. He won five duels and was supported by Kilkenny who won four duels.
Bournemouth dominated the game and created more chances than their opponents. The Cherries have maintained their unbeaten run and Scott Parker would expect to continue with good form in the upcoming matches.
