‘The Devil is intelligent, but lethal’ – Monestary protests against San Donato stadium

The stadium project in San Donato has faced many hurdles since it was first launched, with AC Milan overcoming them all, and yet another attempt to stop them has now emerged. This time, surprisingly so, Catholic monks have protested the matter.

Milan essentially obtained the green light of the San Donato council as the Program Agreement was requested earlier this year. There are still many issues to overcome, above all related to the infrastructure, but the project is steadily moving forward.

After the San Donato population failed to bring the project to a halt, yet another (feeble) protest has been launched in the area, this time by Catholic monks. They happen to have their monestary just 800 meters away from the stadium site, as reported by La Repubblica’s Venerdi (via PianetaMilan).

It would most likely disturb their operations due to the influx of fans travelling to the area, especially on matchdays, but this is not enough to stop the project. Of course, as Milan are also called ‘Il Diavolo’, which translates to the devil, this hasn’t exactly helped calm down the monks.

“The devil offers a tasty dish, but poisoned. His action is sneaky, fascinating, intelligent, but lethal,” Father Stefano Zanolini said to the newspaper.
