The details of Vincent Kompany’s contract at Bayern Munich

As previously reported, Bayern Munich are close to appointing Burnley head coach Vincent Kompany as their successor to Thomas Tuchel, having already agreed personal terms.

However, Der Rekordmeister still need to agree on a fee with Burnley as they look to buy the Belgian out of his contract with the recently relegated Premier League club. It is understood that Burnley are demanding €20 million, while Bayern are only willing to pay €10 million.

It is therefore expected that a compensation package of around €15 million will soon be reached. Nevertheless, what are the contractual details that Bayern and Kompany have agreed upon?

Bayern Munich see Kompany as a long-term solution

According to Bild, Bayern do not consider Kompany to be a temporary solution, and, therefore, a one-year contract is not being discussed. Instead, the record champions are set to offer the former Manchester City defender a three-year deal that will see Kompany remain at the Allianz Arena until 2027.

Having previously been rejected by a number of different head coaches, such as Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Oliver Glasner, there has been speculation that Bayern are looking to find a short-term solution. This would then allow Der Rekordmeister to approach Alonso or Jürgen Klopp next summer.

However, Kompany has been a target of Max Eberl’s from the start. The long-term contract that the Belgian will receive should reflect this, as those at the Säbener Straße look to build something at Bayern with Kompany.
