For over a year, the future of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies has been up in the air.
With significant interest from Real Madrid, as to where the Canadian international would be plying his trade beyond this season was completely unknown, as both Bayern and Madrid appeared to exchange turns in leading the race for Davies’ signature.
However, as recently reported, Der Rekordmeister were able to reach a key breakthrough in negotiations with the left-back as both parties came close to agreeing on an extension.
Nevertheless, as reported by Florian Plettenberg, Davies and Bayern have now agreed on the final details of the deal, with confirmation expected to be imminent.
It is understood that initially, negotiations between Davies and Bayern were focused on signing until 2029, but this has now been resolved.
The 24-year-old will sign a five-year deal at the Allianz Arena, as the record champions secure Davies’ future until 2030.
As well as this, the Canadian will earn a reported €15 million a year, with a signing fee and additional bonuses.
Real Madrid were hopeful that the two would fail to reach an agreement, but Los Blancos will now have to find an alternative to Davies.
