Fulham scored three goals in 15 first-half minutes to hand Liverpool a 3-2 defeat and the Cottagers ended the Reds' 26-match unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Southampton were relegated from the top-flight with seven games left to play after falling to a disappointing 3-1 loss at Tottenham.

Elsewhere, Brentford and Chelsea played out a 0-0 draw with few chances at the Gtech, a result which put the Blues' current top-four spot in danger with chasing Man City in action later.

However, City couldn't capitalise and jump into the Champions League qualification places, as they played out a lackluster 0-0 stalemate with city neighbours Man United.

Player of the day

Brennan Johnson was the star with two superbly taken goals as Tottenham brushed Southampton aside.

The Spurs striker struck his brace before the break and got on the scoresheet for the first time since February.

A rare bright spark in Tottenham's topsy-turvy campaign.

Stat of the day 📊

Southampton's one-year stay in the Premier League came to a (very) premature end after their defeat at Spurs.

The Saints do still have something to play for, however.

Ivan Jurić's side must pick up two more points to avoid Derby's record-low total (10) from the 2007/08 Premier League season.

What this means 🤔

Liverpool's rare defeat means Arsenal have gained one point back in the title race, as the Gunners now sit 11 points behind the Reds.

The race for fourth remains as even as it was before this round of fixtures, with Chelsea still holding a one-point lead over Man City in the final Champions League spot.

Fulham were arguably the biggest victors on Sunday as the West London outfit sit only four points behind fifth-placed Man City.

Tottenham remain in the bottom half of the table, despite a convincing win over now-relegated Southampton, but the triumph may have eased the pressure on under-fire Ange Postecoglou.

What they said 🗣️

After suffering a first Premier League away loss of the season, Liverpool's Arne Slot was left to rue his side's mistakes that opened the door for a Fulham comeback.

"If you look at the goals we conceded, I think all three, we could have prevented them. That is not what we usually see and that is probably why we are where we are, because if you make these mistakes more often in this league, you would not have the amount of points we have."

Marco Silva was delighted with his side's performance and the way the Cottagers hit back from consecutive losses. "The energy was there, the high tempo. We picked the right moments to press, to play balls in behind; we showed great commitment and attitude from the first minute."

Jurić expressed his desire to stay with Southampton upon their pending return to the Championship next season. “If we take the long road to come back here, I am ready,”

After a forgettable Manchester derby, Ruben Amorim was upbeat following improvements from the Nottingham Forest defeat in mid-week. "I think we did well. We played a different game compared to Nottingham Forest last week. I know the excitement is not the same when you are not fighting for big things, changes the excitement of the derby"
