The story of the day came at Molineux as the champions lost for the first time since the final day of last season.

Craig Dawson and Max Kilman mustered 13 clearances between them in what was a resilient display at the back as Gary O’Neil shifted to a back five to counter City’s glorious attacking talents.

But it was the identity of the match-winner which has a certain scent of Barclays about it. Pep Guardiola forgot Hwang Hee-chan’s name when listed the strengths Wolves had in his pre-match press conference on Friday referring to the striker as ‘the Korean guy’.

He won’t forget it now as Hee-chan popped up to poke hm Wolves’ winning goal in the 66th minute.
