Where do we start?

Manchester United suffered their first defeat at Old Trafford since the opening day of the 2022/23 season after being put to the sword by an impressive Brighton side.

Champions Manchester City came from behind to earn a hard-fought win at West Ham while Luton remain pointless after another defeat at Fulham.

And that’s not forgetting Tottenham falling behind before scoring goals in the 98th and 100th minute to beat Sheffield United.

That was replicated at Villa Park as Aston Villa shrugged off Odsonne Edouard’s opener to see off Crystal Palace thanks to goals in the 87th and 97th minutes.

Now breathe.

The international break was a proud moment for Pascal Groß as he represented Germany for the first time at the age of 32.

He showed why he is getting recognition at international level with a controlled performance at Old Trafford, completing nearly 100 passes and showing remarkable skill to get away from Lisandro Martinez before providing an assured finish for Brighton’s second goal.

The Key Detail

There’s something not so Spursy about Spurs.

A 1-0 defeat at home to a newly-promoted side in the game after the international break is a Tottenham staple and for 98 minutes it looked as if it was going to happen.

But Richarlison pulled them level with an important header before laying on the assist for Dejan Kulusevski’s winner in a week where the Brazilian revealed he is seeking ‘psychological help’ to deal with personal issues. If any player needed that boost it was the Tottenham forward.

Manchester United’s shaky start continued meaning they have now lost three of their first five games for the first time in Premier League history.

It was under threat for a while but Tottenham’s unbeaten start to life under Ange Postecoglou continues while the Brighton bandwagon continues to roll on as the win today sees them jump into the top four.

It’s as you were at the top as Man City made it five wins out of five despite falling behind at West Ham, and Luton remain rooted to the bottom after their fourth consecutive defeat.
