The death of Sporting Integrity in Scotland

Article image:The death of Sporting Integrity in Scotland

Yes, I know we shouldn’t be talking about other clubs at IN, but with Celtic playing Hibs later today, it’s important to talk about “sporting integrity”.

As we all know, over on the other side they’re trying to convince us they didn’t get any advantage from the early winter shutdown,

And we are all supposed to believe that St Mirren made this happen, all by themselves…

…yes that sounded weird just writing that.

Let’s get real.

Sporting integrity in Scotland is dead.

What Celtic got was equivalent to a boxing match being stopped when they were hanging on the ropes with a nose bleed, and one eye dangling out from the socket.

Then being told by the kind ref (the SPFL) to come back when they feel better, and finish the match when they are back to full strength.

Yeh, give me a break about “sporting integrity”.

The reality is this all about money. It has always been about the money.

Being first in the Premiership means playing in the Champions league, and all those millions line a lot of very expensive pockets

And if that means getting dodgy 97th minute equalisers, and getting the entire league stopped so they can recover, Celtic will take all the help they can get,

…all the while doing all they can to hinder Rangers.

In the world we live in, Celtic are playing a game where, for them, anything goes, as long as helps them win.

A few years back Rangers asks for help to stagger some games to give us a better chance to win a European trophy…..We’re told that would be against all sporting integrity.

Yep….Sporting integrity, but only when it benefits one side.

The reality is we have to start fighting against this, and to do that we have to start making as much noise as possible.

We have to keep calling out the dodgy decisions that keep giving Celtic Cups (and my god they have had more than their fair share of dodgy decisions).

We have to keep calling out the dodgy decisions made by the SPFL and the SFA.

We have to keep talking up the value of our players, where do you think the tabloids get their figures from? A person who wants to help Rangers? Yeh, get real.

And we have to put pressure on the league to finally bring in VAR, so that Celtic can no longer benefit from all they offside goals, and their questionable penalties.

When Celtic fans don’t want VAR, it’s not because they care about sporting integrity.

Sporting Integrity? What a joke.

Ohhh, Happy New Year….

It would be so ironic if they lost today…
