Germany drew 2-2 (0-1) in their home match against Hungary in the Euro 2021 group F.

The visiting team Hungary started the match best and took the lead early when Adam Szalai scored a goal after 11 minutes, with an assist by Roland Sallai, making it 1-0.

After that the game came to a long, indecisive standstill without either team managing to score. In the 66th minute, Kai Havertz scored a goal, from a pass from Mats Hummels, to equalise for Germany.

Hungary’s Andras Schäfer also scored in the 68th minute as he scored a goal, with an assist by Adam Szalai.

Six minutes left to play, Germany’s Leon Goretzka equalised as he scored a goal. The 2-2 goal was the last goal of the game.

The results in the last qualifying round mean that Germany finish in second place and Hungary in fourth. Germany secured their spot in the playoffs.
