Barcelona are set to offer contracts to both Cesar Azpilicueta AND Andreas Christensen as they look to tempt one (or both) on a free from Chelsea this summer.

The Sun claim that the Spanish side are happy with either of the defenders, and would also take both, and are just trying to make an offer that is more tempting than anything Chelsea put on the table.

One key component of the deal with Azpi is the fact that they’re offering him a two year deal, while Chelsea won’t stretch beyond one. That seems like it could swing him as a vital factor now he’s into his late 30s, and knows this will be his last big contract.

Replacing that kind of quality and leadership is going to be immensely difficult for Chelsea, who will have to start making moves of their own once they finally concede the pair are leaving.
