Portsmouth may be languishing near the bottom of the Championship table, but in the medium-to-long term, how assured do fans feel with the Eisner family at the helm?

Tornate Company founder Michael Eisner and his three sons, Breck, Eric and Anders have been in charge of Pompey since their promotion to League One in 2017.

Seven years on, they are finally one step closer to every American owner's dream, the Premier League.

Early indications show that the south-coast side are a long chalk away from even being in the conversation for promotion, but the previous seven years in League One are evidence enough that Michael and co. are sufficiently patient.

A very close connection

While results are paramount in the short-term, in these modern times, all a fan can really wish for is owners who truly care about the club, and Football League World's Portsmouth FC fan pundit Miltos Ioannidis thinks his team have exactly that.

“I believe that the connection between the Eisner family and the fan base is really, really good. Certainly way better than the connection of some of our previous owners.”

“I think both Michael and Eric (especially Eric who is younger) have a very close connection with the fan base and everything that goes on at the football club.”

“He's very active on social media, comments whenever the team plays whether we’ve drawn, lost or won.”

“They visit quite often. Obviously they live in America, but the whole connection is very much there to see.”

“It is not only way better than some of the owners we’ve had in the past, but also you see a lot of owners nowadays that don’t really have any clear connection with their club which I don’t think could be further away from the reality of what’s happening with the Eisners”

“I’m really pleased with the amount of connection, which is something that has admittedly improved over time, it didn’t necessarily always used to be like that particularly with the American model, what happens in America is a bit different, and they certainly had to adjust to the culture with football clubs in the UK. I think now the connection is there for everyone to see.”

Eric is active, win, lose or draw

As Miltos alludes to, Eric Eisner is seemingly the most enamored with the culture surrounding his club.

A refreshing sight in the modern game, as on the surface, the American owners are certainly passing the 'fit and proper persons' test.
