The Chelsea players have been slated by one thing they did during the defeat to Ipswich Town in the Premier League last night.
Chelsea were really poor and Ipswich just wanted it more and showed more hunger come the end of the game. Chelsea dominated the game as expected, but you don’t win games if you do nothing with the possession. Ipswich made the most of their chances and got Chelsea on the counter attack and with some long balls up to the ever impressive Chelsea target, Liam Delap. Enzo Maresca was full of praise for Delap after the game and it seems pretty obvious to me that he would love to add such a profile to his current team.
But back to what was annoying one BBC pundit whilst watching the game last night, and that is the petulance of some of The Blues players.
They did what many teams do when they are losing, lose their minds and just want to start fights with players on the pitch rather than show any actual fight with their desire and their play.
Chelsea players moaned a lot last night
Paul Robinson, the former England international and now BBC pundit, accused the Chelsea players of showing petulance in their defeat to Ipswich.
Robinson told BBC Sport: (9:48pm, 30 December): “The Chelsea players are still moaning on the pitch, there’s still petulance.”
There was a lot of moaning to be honest and it isn’t what the focus should have been on for our players, they should have been putting all their energy into actually scoring a goal against a team who I believe will once again be back in the Championship league next season because they are just so poor.
