The seedings for Thursday’s Champions League draw have been confirmed with Liverpool in pot three despite being last season’s runners-up.
The winners of each of Europe’s top eight leagues have all been automatically drawn into pot one, as well as last year’s winners Real Madrid and the Europa League champions Atlético Madrid.
Some huge names are in pot two, including Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham, whilst Benfica’s inclusion there has meant Jürgen Klopp’s men will be in the third grouping.
Pot three also includes Monaco, Ajax and Valencia, and easily the most high-profile name in pot four is Inter Milan, who are back in the Champions League after a six-year absence.
There will be eight groups of four teams, and at this point in the competition no teams from the same country can draw each other.
How good would a Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Inter Milan group be?
