Borussia Mönchengladbach head coach Gerardo Seoane’s position at the club looks increasingly unstable and Bild reports that the club are beginning to look at potential replacements.
It has previously been reported that Seoane needs results in the next few games after the international break, or he will likely be removed from his position as head coach. The former Bayer Leverkusen head coach has 40 points from 40 Bundesliga games for Gladbach since taking over, making him one of the worst managers in the club’s recent history.
Gladbach has begun to look for alternatives to Seoane and there are currently two candidates, an internal and an external option.
The external option is former Union Berlin head coach Urs Fischer. The Swiss has a track record of helping to improve players whilst also getting the team to meet his demands when it comes to tactics.
While the internal option is Gladbach’s under-23 head coach Eugen Polanski. The former midfielder is said to have the advantage as he knows what is going wrong with the team. On top of this, Polanski has several youth players who could be promoted to the senior side with him such as striker Winsley Boteli, this would be in line with Gladbach’s roots of producing young players which they want to return to.
The internal solution would also prove to be the cheaper option due to the severance fee that Gladbach will have to pay Seoane.
