Barcelona are still in pursuit of their return to the 1:1 transfer rule and are a few sponsorships and sales away from achieving the position of stability.

The club’s struggles to sign players and register them for the squad should reduce come next summer and Joan Laporta and co. will look to maximise on the same.

After failing to secure most of their transfer targets this time around, the next window will be crucial for the administration to retain the faith. Laporta, thus, has a bomb signing planned as revealed by Fichajes.

The Bavarian protege

As relayed by the outlet, Barcelona have their eyes on Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala as the big-bomb signing for next summer.

The 21-year-old has stood out as not only the Bavarians’ but also the German national team’s best player in recent times and is widely considered to be one of the most talented wingers in world football.

With his contract with Bayern Munich running out in 2026, clubs from across Europe have begun maintaining tabs on his situation and Barcelona are part of the bandwagon.

Given that he will have only one year left on his contract next summer, they hope to sign him for a reasonable fee.

The Catalans are looking for offensive solutions that fit the long-term project. As a player who excels on the left wing, is highly versatile and understands positioning and imbalances, Musiala would be the perfect fit for the team’s void.

Barcelona, however, are not the only club interested in the youngster’s signing with Real Madrid, Manchester City and Arsenal all in the race as well. Needless to say, the bidding war will be fierce should it begin and Barcelona must prepare significant financial muscle.

Meanwhile, all eyes will be on Bayern Munich to see if they can reach an agreement over a contract renewal.
