...in one match - the record for the most goals in one match in the 2024/25 season is held by a Borussia player: Serhou Guirassy scored four times in 43 minutes in BVB's 6-0 win over Union Berlin in February. He shared the feat with Leverkusen's Patrik Schick, who netted four times in a win over Freiburg. It was this performance by the Dortmund striker, among others, that made Guirassy the Bundesliga Player of the Month for February. Incidentally, Pascal Gross contributed four assists in the same match against Union Berlin.
...was the biggest winning margin goal in one match - another season record for the Black & Yellows. The 6-0 win in the home match against Union Berlin was the biggest victory in the 2024/25 Bundesliga season. However, the result against the capital city team does not come close to the biggest league victory in BVB history - on Matchday 12 of the 1981/82 season, Borussia Dortmund ran out 11-1 winners against Arminia Bielefeld at the Rote Erde stadium.
...was how much ground BVB made up in the second half of the season, fighting their way from 11th place at the start of the year to fourth place by the end if the campaign. The Bundesliga had never seen a comeback like this in 62 years of its history. For the first time, a team that were placed in the bottom half of the table after Matchday 27 managed to finish fourth.
...in a row Borussia Dortmund have now qualified for the UEFA Champions League. After one year in the UEFA Europa League in the 2015/16 season, BVB have since played in Europe's elite competition without interruption. In the past ten seasons, BVB have qualified five times by finishing runners-up in the Bundesliga, twice by finishing third and fourth and once by finishing fifth.
...BVB took an average of 16.1 shots per game under Niko Kovac - a significant increase compared to the 12.9 before Kovac took charge. It was not the only statistic that improved significantly during Borussia Dortmund’s late-season run: the same trend could be noted in kilometres run per game (114.8 without Kovac, 118.2 with Kovac), goals per game (1.8 without Kovac, 2.5 with Kovac) and goals conceded per game (1.7 without Kovac, 1.2 with Kovac).
...BVB picked up this season, finishing fourth in the Bundesliga table with a goal difference of 71 scored and 51 conceded. Exactly the same number of points were gained in the 2009/2010 season (fifth place in the table, Europa League qualification, goal difference 54:42) and 1998/99 (fourth place in the table, Champions League qualification, goal difference 48:34).
