Here is the best XI from day 12 of Euro 2020 …
Looks a completely different goalkeeper this summer; calm, confident and his distribution was excellent throughout.
He likes a tackle, doesn’t he? Just ask Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling. Solid performance even if his attacking play lacks quality.
Extremely solid for Croatia when Scotland looked to pressure them on home soil. Brought the ball out nicely at times.
Back into the side after injury and it was like he’d never left. Dominates aerially and his passing was really incisive.
Tried his best once again but Scotland finish last in Group D. His energy and relentlessness is something to behold.
After struggling a bit against Scotland, Phillips was back on top form tonight and never hid in midfield – all action performance.
Are we sure this man is 35 years old? Different class in midfield, technically strong and his wonder-goal proved decisive.
The Scots unfortunately fell short at Hampden Park but McGregor enjoyed their brightest moment, firing in from 20 yards.
Eyebrows were raised when he started ahead of Jadon Sancho but Saka was brilliant; both defensively and offensively.
Another big goal at Wembley for Sterling – that’s now two in three appearances – and he continues to prove his doubters wrong.
We know he’s not exactly a striker, but we wanted to highlight Perišić again who scored (and always seems to impress) for his country.
